The pool has been christened! I got my winter toes in the water today.
Rob and Katharine did the job of the strong young backs by putting all the skeleton pieces of the pool together. After many man hours of leveling the ground and patiently waiting for the pool to fill with spring water from our own property, Robin enjoyed a beer and had a big smile on his face as he sat on the deck* under a colorful umbrella watching his Mom and his sister tossing a volley ball back and forth in the lovely fresh aqua blue water.
And, after all that work, Rob and Emily won’t get much of a chance to use the pool this summer. Next week they fly to the coast of France. Nice work if you can get it!
Eat your hearts out, Robin and Emily! We’ll keep the pool clean for you when you get home from your long, hard summer on the Cote d’Azur.
* footnote: Robin custom made the deck two summers ago. Last summer, we had an abortive attempt at erecting the pool because Emily expected Rob to attend their wedding and lengthy honeymoon! The poor deck looked very lonely without a pool.
