Fifty-cent millionaires

“We’re fifty-cent millionaires” the man says to his wife in a short story by Pam Durban. “Meaning it didn’t take much to make him feel rich. Meaning that what he had was all of what he wanted” the author explains. I had never heard this idea before, at least not expressed this way, but I understood the concept immediately. Because that is how I live my life in my cozy cottage on the hill here in Upstate New York.

  2. Yes, I absolutely identify with this wise statement and am going to reread the story.
