The gate is tall and strong to keep a 90 pound male Chocolate Lab in check in the breezeway. But recently four little Black Lab puppy heads peek through the bottoms of the bars like mini horses waiting for the gun signal at the track…”And they’re off”! As soon as I open the gate to get in and feed them – they’re off . I can usually grab one and block another with the broom , but all four at once scrambling to get into the kitchen is too much for me!!!!
And here’s the funny part – they chase the big dogs who retreat into the breezeway ( which used to be their safe place). Then the mass of running wild black puppy people follow the big dogs back into the breezeway and start nursing off their mother, Grace. However, Choco draws the line when one of them tries to suck off of him – he’ s outa there toute suite !!
The quiet calm – after this crazy wild storm of rampant rambunctious puppies – is palpable. So in stunning silence I sit to write about it.
